Dancing, hanging out and just having fun with your friends is the goal of prom.  The theme of this year’s prom is the Enchanted Forest.

Miranda Hummel, the junior class sponsor at Delta High School, said,  “Prom is going to be a very energetic place to be this year.  I feel a good vibe about this year.”

Prom costs about $6,000 when finished, and that cost covers everything including after-prom.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the finished setup of prom and seeing the students have a good time,” Hummel said.

The junior class sponsors, Mrs. Miranda Hummel and Miss Alicia Fuller, have arranged to have AMS Entertainment for music. AMS is a company that plans weddings and provides professional DJ’s.

Students will be able to get their picture taken whenever they want.

¨It's going to be upbeat and magical,¨ said class president Claire George.

Be ready to dance and have a great time at this year's Enchanted Forest prom on Saturday, May 12 from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie. Prom is so late this spring because of scheduling availability at the Horizon Center.

Don’t forget about after prom at Oneighty (Union Chapel) from midnight to 2 a.m.

Prom bids go on sale in April. For prom and after prom it’s $60 for a couple and $35 for a single. For just prom it is $40 a couple and $25 for a single, and for just after prom it is $30 for a couple and $20 for a single.

“There is a lot of dancing that happens at prom along with a lot of friends just hanging out, having a good time and that is fun to see,” Hummel said.
